At the boarder between Marche and Romagna, Cattolica is located in an inlet that
has accommodated tourists ever since the first decades of the eightieth century.
Today Cattolica is recognized at international level thanks to its efficient accommodation
and entertainment structures, as well as for the typical cuisine that preserves
the tastes of fresh fish and vegetables, merged with the local gastronomical tradition:
tagliatelle, tagliolini, ravioli, cappelletti and strozzapreti, followed by meat
and fish and accompanied by excellent wines from nearby hills and of course the
famous piadina romagnola.
In the past Cattolica put into place important coastal and urban re-qualification
schemes that enriched the town with beautiful garden-squares with fountains, a
modern theatre and an arena for open-air shows. Furthermore there is the most
modern sea-park of Europe: “Le Navi”.
The golden beach deepens into a shallow and safe seabed make Cattolica an ideal
spot for family holidays, children, youngsters and adults. Cattolica besides a
pleasant stay for a beach-holiday also offers dispersed within a range of 50 kilometers
medieval quarters, towns and villages that with their history offer illustrations
of the local lifestyle.
